Almost $2 million in unclaimed prize money has gone begging from punters who have had a win on the tables at Crown Perth, according to the State’s gambling watchdog.
Tucked away in its latest annual report, tabled in Parliament, industry regulator the Gaming and Wagering Commission has detailed the swelling size of a fund that was set up to store the unclaimed winnings from casino gaming activities.
The winnings must not be claimed for at least 14 months before they are transferred into the fund, where they are held for “purposes recommended by the commission”.
